What this is

A space to slow down,
reconnect, and return
to what matters.

Read the story

Selva Prana is a place to slow down. To breathe. To spend a few days away from the noise and reconnect with something quieter inside yourself.

You don't need yoga experience, a meditation practice, or any particular background. You just need to feel ready — for rest, for nature, for a little space to remember who you are.

Small and personal by design — never more than 8 guests, always led by Melissa. Every element is designed to feel welcoming, unhurried, and real.

What makes Selva Prana different

Held lightly,
without dogma

Small by design

Never more than 8 guests. Small enough that you're truly seen, not just one of a crowd.

Personal & intimate

Led personally, every time. Not a brand running a program — a person sharing a home.

Without dogma

Inspired by many traditions, tied to none. What works, works. What doesn't, we leave behind.

Not a resort

No spa menu, no amenities checklist. Just a real home, opened up with care.

Not an ashram

No strict rules or single tradition to follow. Just an invitation to slow down.

Genuine connection

Space for real conversation, presence, and quiet — with yourself and with others.

The experience

A place to
slow down

Life moves fast. Between work, family, responsibilities, and the constant noise of modern life, many of us rarely give ourselves permission to pause. Selva Prana was created as a space to do just that.

You do not need to be an experienced yogi.
You do not need to meditate every day.
You do not need to arrive with any special knowledge.

Simply come as you are.

Living and dining room at Selva Prana, Puerto Rico
01
Gentle movement & yoga
Accessible and welcoming, whether you are stepping onto a mat for the first time or returning after years away. We explore movement as a way to cultivate awareness, presence, and ease — not perfect poses.
02
Breath & presence
Through simple breathing practices, guests learn ways to cultivate calm, focus, and a deeper sense of connection. No prior experience necessary.
03
Time in nature
Set in the mountains of Puerto Rico, with ocean views in the distance. Walking barefoot on the earth, watching the light change, or simply sitting quietly outside becomes part of the experience.
04
Nourishment
Meals inspired by Ayurveda, time in India, and a love for simple, wholesome ingredients. Prepared with care. Gathered around the table as an opportunity to slow down and connect.
05
Reflection & journaling
Guided prompts, quiet contemplation, and meaningful conversation. Often, the answers we seek are already within us. These practices create space for insight, gratitude, and self-discovery.
06
Ritual & intention
Intention-setting circles, copal cleansing rituals, gratitude practices, and moments of shared reflection — offered in a spirit of openness and respect, never as requirements.
07
Rest
Perhaps the most important practice of all. A hammock. A book. The clouds moving across the mountains. In a culture that constantly encourages us to do more, here you have permission to simply be.
08
Community
Intentionally small and intimate. Space for genuine conversation, shared meals, laughter, and connection. Many guests arrive seeking a break from routine and leave feeling more connected.
09
Presence
To savor a meal without rushing. To listen deeply. To watch the sunrise without feeling the need to capture it. One of the greatest gifts we can offer ourselves is our full attention.

Daily rhythm

A day at
Selva Prana

There is no fixed schedule here — only a loose, gentle rhythm to the day.

Mornings tend to open slowly. Afternoons leave room for rest. Evenings come together naturally. Everything offered — yoga, meditation, breathwork, conversation — is an invitation, never an obligation.

Morning

A slow start. Coffee or tea in quiet. Whenever you feel ready, an invitation to sit in stillness or move gently into the day.

Midday

Open time. Journaling, conversation, nourishing food, or simply sitting with a cup of tea.

Afternoon

A gentle session, reflection, ceremony, or free time depending on the rhythm of the group.

Evening

Dinner together, quiet conversation, and space to wind down.

The person behind it

The person
behind it

Melissa studied Hospitality Management at Les Roches in Switzerland before spending more than a decade exploring yoga, meditation, breathwork, and mindful living through experiences in Mexico, India, Bali, Europe, and Puerto Rico.

Along the way, she taught, practiced, built community, and discovered the power of slowing down and living more intentionally.

After years of teaching, traveling, and creating spaces for connection, she now hosts intimate retreats in Puerto Rico where guests can step away from the noise of daily life and reconnect with themselves, nature, and what matters most.

Selva Prana is a reflection of that journey — a small, personal space where guests are welcomed exactly as they are and every retreat is personally hosted by Melissa.

I arrived exhausted and left quieter — in the best way. The simplicity of each day was the most radical thing I'd experienced in years.

The food, the mornings, the silence after practice — it reminded me that the things I was looking for were never that complicated.
